Electrical Design for PLC- and PC-Controlled Equipment

PLC-Controlled Equipment

Complete electrical design for PLC-controlled equipment. Operating sequences, I/O configurations and component specifications are confirmed with the PLC programmer and reflected in the electrical drawings. Device communications are documented separately in communication network diagrams.

  • Review PLC and I/O module configurations
  • Document sensor and actuator signals and wiring
  • Prepare electrical drawings, panel layouts and communication network diagrams

PC-Controlled Equipment

Complete electrical design for PC-controlled equipment. Program operation and the I/O and communication specifications between the PC and control devices are reviewed. Power and control wiring are documented in electrical drawings, and device communication links in communication network diagrams.

  • Coordinate operating requirements and signals with the PC control software developer
  • Review I/O wiring and communications between devices
  • Prepare electrical drawings, panel layouts and network diagrams for PC-controlled equipment

From PC Control Logic to Complete Electrical Design

Support is available when PC control software and electrical design are handled separately. Coordination with the software developer connects the program's operating requirements to the electrical design needed for panel fabrication.

Electrical Drawings ยท Panel Layouts ยท Communication Network Diagrams

These three drawing types are coordinated as part of the complete equipment electrical design. Equipment specifications, drawing detail and delivery file formats are confirmed before work begins.

Existing Drawing Revisions and Equipment Retrofits

Existing drawings can be reviewed and refined as well as new designs prepared. Share the current drawings along with added devices, replacement components and changes to equipment operation. Where the actual equipment differs from the drawings, items requiring verification are identified before agreeing the scope.

Design Starts With Understanding How Your Equipment Works.

The review begins with the equipment's operating sequence and the signals exchanged by its devices. Operation, I/O and communication requirements are agreed with the PLC or PC software developer so that electrical drawings, panel layouts and network diagrams form a coordinated design.

What We Review During Design

From Inquiry to Delivery

Equipment and drawings are reviewed using the information you provide, then scope, schedule and quotation are agreed. Drawing preparation and review follow. If fabrication is required, coordination of partner personnel and suppliers can be included. Site checks and settlement at delivery follow the agreed project scope.

On-site Electrical Support in South Korea

International equipment suppliers installing machinery in South Korea can request on-site support from someone who understands electrical drawings. Support includes reviewing drawings and equipment configurations, assisting with on-site electrical work, and discussing tasks with overseas personnel in English. Scope, schedule and fees are agreed in advance after reviewing the equipment and site conditions.

A directly accessible network of approximately 100 electrical professionals in South Korea supports coordination of teams of around 20โ€“30 people working concurrently, subject to schedules and site conditions. Actual team availability and composition are confirmed for each project.

Electrical Design Across South Korea's Industrial Areas

Outsourced and freelance electrical design services are available throughout South Korea. Remote collaboration and site visits are supported; the scope, schedule and costs of site visits are agreed for each project.

Key Service Areas, Including Industrial Parks and Complexes

Support is available throughout South Korea and at overseas sites. The scope, schedule, travel and accommodation costs of overseas assignments are agreed in advance.

Information to Prepare for a Quotation

Share the equipment purpose and operating description, existing drawings, major control components, complete configuration, design requirements and deadline. For export equipment, include the destination and required standards. Design fees and duration are determined after reviewing the information and scope.

Service FAQs

Can I work with you on an outsourced or freelance basis?

Yes. As a freelance electrical designer, I undertake complete equipment electrical design on an outsourced basis. You can request design work alone or discuss including build project management. Scope, schedule and quotation are based on the equipment specifications and available information.

Can electrical design work be carried out remotely?

Electrical design services are available throughout South Korea. Design work is coordinated remotely, with site visits for stages requiring on-site review, such as initial equipment checks and fabrication kickoff. The scope, schedule and costs of visits are agreed for each project.

Do you prepare electrical drawings for PC-controlled equipment?

Yes. Complete electrical design and drawings are available for both PLC-controlled and PC-controlled equipment. The PC control program's operation is reviewed, and I/O and communication specifications are confirmed with the software developer. Power and control wiring are documented in electrical drawings, component positions in panel layouts, and device communication links in network diagrams. Share the control method, operation, major components and available information to discuss the complete design scope and schedule.

What do electrical drawings, panel layouts and communication network diagrams cover?

Electrical drawings document power and control circuits, wiring, terminals and other electrical connections. Panel layouts show component positions and arrangements inside the panel. Communication network diagrams show the communication methods and connection structure between control devices. All three are coordinated to form the complete electrical design for the equipment.

Can I request revisions or retrofit design for existing equipment?

Yes. Existing equipment drawing reviews, revisions and retrofit design can be discussed. Share the current drawings, intended operational changes, added or replacement components and actual site conditions so their impact on the complete configuration can be reviewed.

Can you proceed if the drawings do not match the actual equipment?

Differences between the drawings and actual equipment are reviewed first. Change records and available information are used to decide whether further checks or a site visit are needed. The drawing revision scope is then agreed with the complete equipment configuration in mind.

What happens if equipment specifications change during design?

Changes to operation, components and control specifications are assessed for their impact on the complete electrical configuration. After confirming requirements with the control software developer, the revision scope, schedule and costs are agreed, and the changes are reflected in the relevant drawings, layouts and network diagrams.

Do you also manage control panel fabrication after design?

For projects requiring fabrication, coordination of partner personnel and suppliers and progress management from kickoff to delivery can be discussed. Please indicate whether you need drawings only or also fabrication personnel and schedule management.

Which design tools and delivery file formats do you use?

The tools used are AutoCAD and PDF. Required delivery formats and scope, including editable drawing files and review documents, are agreed before work begins.
